Note: If you need help installing add-ons in Sisense please contact us. We are happy to jump on an online meeting with screenshare and walk you through it.

The guide below describes how to download and install the latest RAPID BI Sisense Addons from the RAPID BI Members Area.

A pre-requisite to use RAPID BI Sisense Add-Ons is to install and configure the RAPID Plugins Manager. The process is the same as installing the individual Add-Ons except that you will also need to input your license key.

Downloading Add-Ons from the Members Area

If you have ordered Sisense Add-Ons (including free trials), you can now download the add-on files from our Members Area, in addition to downloading the RAPID Plugins Manager.

Choose My Account, then click on the product/license. 

Then click Downloads on the left-top to see all related downloads. Do NOT rely on the Latest Download section as that will only download a single file (it will not download the RAPID Plugins Manager). Please click the Downloads tab on the left instead.

Download the RAPID BI Plugins Manager and any RAPID BI Add-Ons that you would like to use.

Configuring the Plugins Manager

The RAPID Plugins Manager must be enabled in your Sisense instance for RAPID BI Add-ons to function.

Download RAPIDPluginsManager.zip.

Within the zip file, under the RAPID Plugins Manager folder, the file licenses.js needs to be modified to include your license key. The license key was emailed to you and is also available to you in the RAPID BI Members Area.

The license key will work for one Sisense instance initially. If you have multiple Sisense instances (e.g Prod and Dev servers), please advise us of the URLs for the additional instance(s) and we will enable the license key to work on these also.

Upload and Install RAPID BI Add-Ons

To upload RAPID BI add-ons, you are best to use the Sisense API. The File Manager can truncate some files to 0 bytes which will mean that the add-ons will not work. Using the API also allows you to upload zipped files.

In Sisense, browse to Admin -> REST API.

Choose 1.0 (top right), then scroll down to POST /plugins/import Import a plugin

Click Try It Out, select RAPIDPluginsManager.zip and click Execute. 

Once the Plugins Manager is uploaded you can upload RAPID BI Add-Ons in the same way.

After the Add-Ons (and the RAPID Plugins Manager) are uploaded, they should install automatically. You can see which Add-Ons are installed in Sisense by browsing to Admin -> Server & Hardware -> Add-ons
